Quality Control Technician

Job description:

Reporting to the Quality Control Director, the candidate will:

  • Ensure the pre-operational tour before the beginning of the day’s production;
  • Ensure plant tours (inspections of facilities, storage conditions, compliance with procedures) and ensure compliance with good manufacturing practices;
  • Perform monitoring tasks (equipment and other tools calibration, monitoring outdoor and indoor facilities);
  • Ensure the necessary follow-up in case of non-compliance cases; provide training on hygienic rules, good industrial practices and other specific activities related to CCP/prerequisite programs/SQF;
  • Organize and carry out the quality control of finished and/or processed products according to established specifications; take food and environmental samples in compliance with HACCP/SQF standards;
  • Monitor the results of analyzes, share the information appropriately to the different officials concerned and compile results; ensure monitoring of completed forms and working methods with the HACCP/SQF framework;
  • Assist the Quality Control Director during CFIA and third-party audits;


Profile required:

  • Level of education: College degree in food processing, or equivalent
  • Experience: at least 2 years in meat processing quality control
  • Ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision
  • Team spirit and easy to interact with
  • Good communicator and good training provider
